Close Shave for Police – Raymond Terrace

WORLDS GREATEST SHAVE 2018-01Police from Raymond Terrace have urged the community to support them generously as they have a ‘close shave’ to support charity.

Local participants for The World’s Greatest Shave will be at Raymond Terrace Market Place at 2pm on Thursday 15 March 2018.

Three officers, Senior Constables Aaron Tull, Luke Rogers and Chief Inspector Tony Townsend will all lose their hair as part of the challenge to raise much needed funds for the Leukemia Foundation.

The officers have all been impacted by the disease and remember the tremendous support given to them by the Leukemia Foundation so are happy to undergo a ‘close shave’ for charity.

Chief Inspector Townsend said the support given to him and his family was ..

“I cannot speak highly enough of the support I was given by the Leukemia Foundation when I was treated for this illness during 2013 and 2014,” Chief Inspector Townsend said.

“After three transplants, 52 blood transfusions and 12 months in hospital I was fortunate enough to get through it and come back to work.

“Sadly many others I met on that journey did not,” Chief Inspector Townsend said.

The officers have urged anyone that wishes to attend should come along and support them on Thursday.

Donations can also be made directly to the charity at http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/marketplaceraymondterrace1

Anything that you can afford to donate, no matter how small, will be gratefully received and go towards supporting research into the disease and supporting families impacted by it.

MarketPlace School PBL Stars

MarketPlace is very proud to partner with our 9 local schools and be a part of the PBL programme. PBL is based on common set of values that are determined by the community. Raymond Terrace Community PBL values are based on a five pointed star to represent the five schools that are involved.

Using these values, we as a community will teach expected behaviours in specific settings.
